The DCM is an isolated, regulated, DC/DC converter capable of converting a wide range of input voltages into commonly used output voltages in a package smaller and lighter than any available brick.
Using a high frequency Double Clamped Zero Voltage Switching (DC-ZVS) topology the DCM converter consistently delivers high efficiency across the entire input line range. The DCM can be easily arrayed to create multi-kW power conversion stages with common or separate sources. When combined with downstream point-of-load devices, the modular DCM converter can be used to create flexible power-dense architectures with superior system performance and lower total cost of ownership.
Leveraging the thermal and density benefits of Vicor’s ChiP packaging technology, the DCM module offers flexible thermal management options with very low top and bottom side thermal impedances. Thermally-adept ChiP based power components enable customers to achieve cost effective power system solutions with previously unattainable system size, weight and efficiency attributes, quickly and predictably.
